There are ten grades in the colour belt system of Taekwondo and each colour marks the progression in grade. The colour of the belt also has a significance and can be compared to a growing plant (yellow earth, green shoots, blue sky). Red signifies danger and black opposite to white. All which symbolises the knowledge of Taekwondo growing within the student.
